Rugby injuries are a major concern to many players, coaches, first aiders and parents.  When a player is injured it is vital that he gets the right treatment at the field immediately.

Rugby South Africa has stepped in to see that the people working with injuries are trained properly.  Boksmart is a programme that manages acute on field injuries.  They emphasize the correct treatment for spinal injuries.

A while ago a large number of coaches attended a workshop at Templeton where the dangers of rugby were taught.  Last week the practical side of the course was completed.  All coaches and first aiders learnt a lot.

Thank you to Boksmart for sending a very capable team to Templeton.  Hands-on training took place and all questions were answered professionally.  Although everyone realised the seriousness of this exercise the training session was thoroughly enjoyed.
